Heather Boyd

The very last part made me smile. Great six as usual.

TempesteO

"...glued to my butt."
Love it! Great six and funny... :c) I don't normally care for romantic comedy but I think you might be an exception :c)

Jynnipher

Agree with the other comments...glue to my butt!
Great six!

Áine Massie

Glued is great but I love her description of HOW he made her heart beat faster...
"...three cups of really strong coffee, worried that I'd left the curling iron on..."

Love your 6!

Ursula Grey

Funny six! Agree with Aine, loved those two sentences about the curling iron & glue;-) Very nice.

Christine Warner

Enjoyed that six..great insight into your character :)

Melissa

Love how you say a lot with very few words to make a very identifiable character!

Donna Cummings

Thanks, Heather! I'm heading over to read yours too.

TempesteO -- I'm glad to bring you over to the dark side. LOL

Jynnipher -- So glad you enjoyed it.

Donna Cummings

Áine -- I had to use copy/paste so I could keep the cool accent mark in your name. :) I'm glad you liked the description--we all need someone who makes our heart do that. LOL

Ursula -- I'm glad it gave you a smile. :)

Donna Cummings

Christine -- thanks! She was such a fun character to write.

Melissa -- Shelby is indeed a very identifiable character. LOL Probably because it's in 1st POV. But I really enjoyed writing her comments and dialogue. I'd forgotten how much, until I started re-reading so I could post these snippets. :)

Angela Quarles

Love this! This is exactly how I feel about the who attraction tango--everyone else got the manual. You described so well the racing of her heart, instead of just saying "her heart beat faster" and, as noted, I loved how you describe her frustration at not knowing how the whole rules of attraction work....

Donna Cummings

Angela, thanks! It IS a complicated dance, isn't it? LOL I think I typically use the "her heart beat faster" shorthand, but I've convinced myself that Shelby's voice and personality is what allowed me to do this differently. I really had fun with writing this story.

Michelle

I love the last line! That's classic.

Very good six,
Michelle

Kate Warren

Oh the perils of attraction! I love Shelby. Awesome six, Donna!

Veronica Scott

I know exactly how she feels - excellent description! Can't wait to read more about these characters - terrific six...

Joya Fields

Great stuff, Donna. I love how you weave coffee into this story. Great job depicting her conflicted feelings--haven't we all felt that way at one time or another? :)

Donna Cummings

Michelle, thanks so much!

Kate, I was just over at your site, leaving my comment on your hilarious snippet. LOVED it.

Thanks, Veronica. I'm having so much fun reading everyone's excerpts, like yours. It's such a treat.

Joya, my characters tend to love coffee as much as I do. LOL And yes, those conflicted feelings -- a universal thing. :)

Silver James

Oh, Donna! I LOVE this heroine. It sounds like Shelby knows the Coffee Fae, too. ;) This is a great snippet. SO many great "one-liners"!

Donna Cummings

LOL, Silver -- I think Shelby and the Coffee Fae are great friends! I'm so glad you enjoyed this. :)

Cherie Marks

Hahaha! That's a funny line about the post-it, and oh, so true. Great six!

Donna Cummings

Thanks so much, Cherie -- glad you stopped by!

Lorraine Paton

Another fabulous six, Donna! I love Shelby! Like the others said, the heart beat and sticky note lines are wonderful!

Sidney Bristol

Man, I want a copy of that rule book when she gets it!!

Jennifer Lowery (Kamptner)

LOL! Awesome six! Fun character to read! Thanks!

Tonya Burrows

I really do love Shelby. She has such a strong voice and you can't help but root for her. Awesome six!

Elin Gregory

I love the humour in this and can't help but agree that a Haynes Manual for relationships would be a best seller.

Donna Cummings

Lorraine and Tonya -- so glad you love Shelby. She makes me laugh a lot too. :)

Sidney and Elin -- somebody needs to write that relationship rule book, like now! LOL

Jennifer -- I'm glad you enjoyed this. Thanks for stopping by!

Jennifer Hickman

Loved your six! I did a little research before my first six this past weekend. Yours are some of my favorite.

Jenny Hickman

Donna Cummings

Jenny, I'm so glad to hear that! Thanks for letting me know. :)
