Mia is trying to explain to hunky car-washing neighbor Luke how the puppy in her arms helped cause the damage to his car. To Luke's amusement, she uses words like "devil hound" and "Satan's minion" to describe the animal he thinks of as a dust bunny with legs:
The dog licked her cheek once, as if it would prove his innocence, then stared at Luke with the most solemn expression.
"He looks like he was rolled in adorable, and then dusted with cute."
She smiled, banishing the frown that had been hovering there since he'd opened his front door. "That's the problem--it's disguising his true nature."
"Do you hear what she's saying about you, buddy?" Luke asked, scratching under the puppy's chin.
The dog whimpered, putting his paw over his nose.
Thanks for your comments, and your camaraderie. This is a great way to spend a Sunday!
Nicely written scene. Gotta love a man who likes dogs.

Okay, this dog is reminding me of my 7yo. Deceptively adorable on the outside, pure evil on the inside. Great six!

Thanks, Cara -- he didn't expect to fall for this dog. :)
Linda, sounds like your 7yo keeps you on your toes! LOL

AH! I simply love this back and forth about the puppy. Is he available for adoption? :)

Dogs are such great icebreakers! Love the dialogue here! Had me laughing out loud because I love dogs and know how devious they can be regardless of their cuteness. Great six!

Ah, sweet little horror! The guy sounds really nice though! Loved it.

You have to love this dog. Puppies are ... well, puppies. If they weren't "devil hounds" at first, we'd probably worry :-) Nice six.

LOL, Jenny -- he has a shoe fetish, just to warn you. Loves to chew them up. :)
Thanks, L.J. -- that cuteness draws us in every time. Glad you stopped by!
Gemma -- I'm a little partial to Luke. LOL Glad you liked it.
Virginia, you're right, they DO need to grow out of that "devil hound" phase. LOL

Aww, the dog is too freaking cute! And a man who loves animals = hotness.

No, I have to agree---anything that cute is diabolical underneath, just because they can. :D

I love a good dog story. There's not enough of them. This is delightful and charming.

Made me smile. Perfectly written, Donna! Really makes me wonder WHY she could feel that way about a puppy? lol...maybe she needs Luke to save her from herself??
Love this line: "He looks like he was rolled in adorable, and then dusted with cute."
Nice six!

Lorraine, that puppy definitely has a personality, so it was fun to write his reactions.
Thanks, Wildcats Wife. I'm glad you liked it.
Teresa, thanks so much. She feels that way about the puppy because the little furball has a shoe fetish and was just chomping on her newest shoes. LOL

Yep, a man with a soft spot for puppies does it for me every time. Throw in some hunkiness and you might as well roll me in ga-ga and dust me with smitten! ;-)

LOL, Joyce -- I love your description. Thanks for making me smile. :)
