Don't worry about losing stuff Donna. Your subconscious is like the proverbial elephant who never forgets. The subconscious mind also acts as a filter and in the act of creation, eliminates the dud ideas and highlights the gems. No doubt Endora also spends some time down there dusting and tidying ideas! LOL

Donna Cummings

Endora? Dusting and tidying? Hah! I wish. LOL

I think you're right about the subconscious acting as a filter, although it does seem to forget things when I don't want it to. Maybe that means it's getting rid of the duds, like you said though. :)

Now I'm wondering where it puts all those cast-offs. I better go move things around in my brain now!

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one addicted to buying school supplies. All those shiny notebooks, just beckoning to be filled. I used to keep a notebook per story, but then I started putting notes online and getting organized, creating file folders. I'm still kind of sloppy though, because I go back and forth beneath the two...normally starting all perfectly organized and precise and then degenerating into chaos as the story progresses and changes.

I salute your disorganization, LOL. Cheers!

Donna Cummings

Mae, school supplies are almost as addictive as coffee! And just as essential. LOL

I'm trying not to use these notebooks as much anymore, though, for the reason you mentioned: complete and utter chaos! I still manage to make things difficult for myself, though, by having a zillion different Word docs with obscure names on it, like "leftovers" with the date I made the file. As if I'm going to find anything that way LOL
